In early times the use of jewelry was for practical purposes. Jewelry was used to pin clothes together, for storage, and as wealth. But in recent times the use of jewelry is for mostly decorative purposes. The earliest jewelry pieces were made out of bone, stone, wood, animal teeth, wood, shell, and other natural materials. Those people who had a high social status used to get jewelry made for themselves in order to show their status level.
