Apparently this appears as a harmless commodity that just brings people joy and pleasure and helps them celebrate times that are of significance in their life. However there is a downside to this and not all people always enjoy the charms of putting on precious stones and metals. The biggest question mark that it tends to raise in the society is that of discrimination as this too like many other social factors adds to the prominence of the different classes of the world and in most third world countries people wearing them are at a constant risk of being robbed by those in need of money.

Another disadvantage is that this results in limitation of liquid cash as the prices of metal after being changed into a design is extremely different from that of solid gold or silver and thus there is an automatic devalue of money when a metal is drawn into a ring or necklace.
